Qualifying Examination for Veterinary Paraprofessionals
Subject to the requirements of Section 5 (2) (1) of the Veterinary Act CAP 319, the Veterinary Council has the power to arrange and conduct qualifying examinations to graduates in Diploma in Animal health to establish competence in veterinary education and practice.
Qualifying examination for diploma graduates, tests the candidate's day one competence skills and understanding of Anatomy, Animal production, Reproduction, Surgery and Professional ethics. Other skills tested include Basic Animal Health Practice and Animal Welfare, Pathology, Clinical Microbiology, Parasitology and Pharmacology. If the applicant fails the examination, the Council provide the last opportunity for the applicant to re-sit the examination.
